Moving Forward

Well, I made it through the weekend, and I haven't cried since Thursday. Yay!

My house is Christmasfied, which was fun. DH had to come home on Friday because he had to work, but my parents said that if I wanted to stay longer they'd bring me home on Saturday. We were fine with that, because he would be gone overnight anyway, and he would be able to rest better on Saturday morning without me cleaning around the house and making noise. So, my parents and sister brought me back yesterday and helped us put up our decorations.

My Scentsy launch party is this Friday, which I'm anxious about. I've already gotten almost $200 worth of orders, which is awesome, but I do hope that everyone who said 'yes' to my party actually shows up so I can get more. It will be a good distraction, because I'll have to spend my week focusing on cleaning the house, getting some snacks together, and making sure everything is ready to go. I also have two book parties out right now, which I'm hoping will help me generate some long-term business. I expected to do some good business because people are buying Christmas gifts and Christmas scents, but I hope that I can keep my sales up even after the holidays. I'm not a very experienced business person, but I'm going to try and think of some strategies.

This next week and a half has our window of opportunity, which helps lift my spirits a bit. We've done a lot of talking (a LOT of talking) and we've made some decisions. First of all, I thought I'd be pregnant by this point, and I'm not, so I'm going to set a new "mental goal" for myself. My new goal is going to be March. I'm going to tell myself that we may not get pregnant until after March, and anything before that will be a bonus. We'll keep trying, of course, but I'm going to try really hard to cut myself a break and just enjoy living as the two of us for now. Conversely, we've decided to tackle a project. We're going to begin cleaning out our office in preparation to make it a nursery. Now, I know that sounds completely counterproductive, but I think it will help me believe that this WILL happen. We won't be buying any furniture to put in there. We'll just be preparing it for some furniture. We have a lot of things to organize and some things that we need to just get out of the apartment.

Have a lovely week!
