38 Week Survey

How Far Along: 38 weeks
Baby's Size: About 6 pounds--a full-size baby
Weight gain/ loss: Oh my....we'll find out the official count on Tuesday, but I feel like a cow.
Best Moment This Week: Uh....slow week. I guess having my first real contraction?
Symptoms: Swelling and establishing a second residence in the bathroom
Labor Signs:Some Braxton Hicks and one very real contraction that lasted for about a minute...plus the baby continuing to headbutt my cervix and take my breath away, if that's considered a labor sign
Food Cravings/ Aversions: Same. Steamed baby carrots have tasted especially yummy this week.
What I'm Looking Forward To: We finally found and purchased a room divider this week, so hopefully that can be put up today. Then, excluding my sister's artwork, the nursery will be finito.
Milestones: First contraction

I'm not to the point yet where I'm like, 'OOOO! Am I in labor? Am I in labor?" I'm still cool with the baby waiting another week or so...but I do want to feel like I'm making some progress. The baby really hasn't dropped that much. I can breathe more easily now, but I don't feel that pressure on my hipbones that clues me in that the baby is in position....so I guess I just want to know that something is happening. I'm really hoping to avoid an induction, and I know that a lot can happen in two weeks, but I just want to know that a little something is going on in there.
