This is the first weekend of the next stage of our lives--meaning no hotel for him and no job to go to for me.
It has been GLORIOUS.
Each weekend day, Mr. ABC123 spends sleeping so that he can go to work at night. That means that we can't make plans or go anywhere, and I spend my weekends pretty much alone. Now, we get to do stuff together--on Friday night we had friends over, yesterday we worked on packing things up with my mom, last night we went to meet some more friends at Red Elephant for dinner (to spend time with them before we move), and today we are vegging on the couch watching "Criminal Minds." (I don't know why we've gotten into this show, but we have).
It feels great to be able to spend so much time together. I am really enjoying having more flexibility in our schedules....which of course, we're trying to take full advantage of before Baby is born.
So, I am happy right now.
Since I hit the third trimester today, I've started trying to read more about labor, delivery, breastfeeding, and the postpartum period...it will be here before we know it. I was researching some more breastfeeding products to possibly add to the registry, so I want to know...
What were your breastfeeding must-haves? What's a waste of money, and what's a lifesaver?
Two days in, when I was ready to throw in the towel and switch to formula, my nurse brought me Lansinoh Soothies Gel Pads, Lansinoh Creme, Medela Nipple Shields, and her time. The idea seemed so simple. We're made to do this, so why doesn't it just happen? But it's not simple.... I needed to be taught, Owen was learning too. Asking for help was the best thing I could have done!
