No, really.
I found out that my blood type is A negative. Since I am negative, I have to get the Rhogam shot (we know for a fact that the hubs has A positive blood, so there's no chance of us both being negative and it not being an issue).
I had read about being Rh negative and needing to get an injection once during pregnancy and then again at delivery, but now I'm one of those people. It doesn't really BOTHER me, it's just kind of a nuisance to go all the way down to the hospital, get blood drawn again, and get a shot (not to mention quite an expense). BUT, if the baby has a positive blood type, then there is a chance that my body could see it as a foreign agent and start attacking the fetus, and any prevention of that is worth the hassle to me.
My belly button is still pretty shallow, but I haven't had the stretching discomfort today. I'm wondering if it had to do with how the baby was positioned. I know it might be a little early for this, but remember how I said that sometimes it feels like the baby is straight up and down, hip to ribs in me? Well, the past few days, I SWEAR I can feel the baby up in my ribs. I didn't know the baby was already big enough for that.
I have a friend who is one week ahead of me, and she just got a 4D sonogram. She posted a picture on FB, and it looked like a tiny little person! With a face, and a nose, and little cheeks! I mean, I know my baby is a person, but I have a hard time picturing more than the outline of a body--we've seen two arms, two legs, the head, etc....but because it was just a regular ultrasound, we couldn't see very much other than bone. But it looks like a tiny little person, almost ready to be born! (I mean, I know our baby needs to keep baking, but I had no idea the face looked so developed already). Our baby has distinctive looks already. CRAZY.
By the way, I got a picture from one of my kids today that I'm totally saving to show my child someday. It says, "Mrs. (ABC123), I hope your baby is very hansum (handsome) or beautiful!"
Precious.
