Today has been really nice so far. We went to church today, and it was the first time since we told the world, so there were lots of congratulations. That was fun. =) We came home and finished the rest of our leftovers from Longhorn, and it makes me feel good to know what we're going to have for our next meal--it's been awhile since I've been able to give my husband a meal. Even though I didn't cook this one, I felt proud that I was able to have something on the table! I had a very hard time with the steak today and ended up not eating it, but we did have some fresh fruit, so I still gave the baby some good stuff for lunch. =)
Then, we went to Target to browse some baby items. I've done a very small amount of research online, but not much. Quite honestly, I was afraid to really do many "pregnant lady" things until after the first trimester...but now I'm solidly in the second trimester and everyone knows, so I suppose it's time to embrace the fact that we actually get to do this. We bought some "coming home" outfit choices for the tot (but even if the baby doesn't wear them home, he/she can wear them at home). We couldn't find a single acceptable gender-neutral outfit, so we bought two choices. We figure we'll keep the one we don't need for a second baby, or give it to one of our friends that are having a baby. Everyone else plans to find out what they're having, so I'm sure we can find someone who might want the other onesie.

The top one is for if we bring home Lily, and the bottom is for if we bring home Isaac. Of course, the baby will have more than just a onesie to wear home (although, advice please--it's going to be BLAZING HOT, and I know babies will be colder than the rest of us, but should I get long pants or shorts to bring the baby home in?), and I know there's a good chance that we'll find another, gender-neutral outfit that we like. We just really liked these and were anxious to make a baby purchase. Besides, the baby will need many, many days of clothes to wear. =)
I also hoped to post a baby bump picture today, but the hubs is sleeping in preparation for work tonight, so I'll have to wait until he can help me take it. I can tell that I'm showing, although to anyone else, I just look chubby. Last night when I had on my nightgown, I did a double-take in the mirror--there's something there that wasn't there before!
Finally, what's your second trimester advice? Does anyone know where I can find the best research on baby items like carseats?
Sooo I totally commented from my Google Reader last night and apparently it didn't take LOL.

Aww isn't it so crazy and amazing to get those first items?? I kept cradling her newborn clothes, amazed that I would soon be bringing someone home that tiny.
We brought the babe home the first week of August, but she was in a long-sleeved, footed sleeper and hat. They're going to roll you out to the front of the building where your car will be waiting, so your little one will likely be in the heat for 2 seconds. :) She basically lived in sleepers for the first several weeks or wrapped in blankets.
I have some leftover size 1 Pampers, if you're interested in them. :)
Ooo, definitely! Thanks!
