Guess whose class has a substitute today? Yep, as a result of a 101* temp last night at 7, I decided it was too late at night to chance getting better in time for work. I HATE missing work because it makes me feel like a wimp, but hopefully the parents will see and appreciate my efforts not to get their children sick before Christmas. =/ Yeah, my kids have a big test on Friday and they were supposed to get their study guide today....my guess is that somebody won't be happy about missing out on the extra day to study, but what am I supposed to do? You can't please everybody. Besides, the test is FRIDAY, and today is MONDAY. Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday should still provide them with ample time to review the material, since it is only a review, provided they learned the material the first time. (Is it totally obvious here that I'm just trying to make myself feel better about calling out sick)?
We don't have much to eat in the house since this past Friday was payday for both of us, and *somebody* was too sick to cook or go grocery shopping (slacker!!!). So, on his way home from work this morning, Mr. ABC123 stopped by McDonalds to get me a biscuit and...wait for it......a Wildberry smoothie. Maybe it's just because I've hardly eaten a thing since Thursday at lunch. Maybe it's because it was cold and smooth. Whatever it was, that smoothie was the single most delicious thing I have ever tasted. No lie, I could've cried when he walked in the door with it. I was SO HUNGRY. The hubs has been out of the house a lot this weekend because he works both of his jobs over the weekend, and he was feeling badly about not being here to pick up the slack, so he decided it would be worth facing my nagging about spending the money to bring something home, and oh my....no nagging here, just gratitude. I'm sipping as I write, drinking just enough to satisfy my thirst while trying to make it last as long as possible.
That is so pathetic. There was one bit of good news yesterday, though! The hubs is still putting out applications left and right, and yesterday, he received an email saying that he's been moved to the next stage of the application process. Yay, progress!
