WHERE Did October Go?!

Probably disappeared amidst a haze of charting and temping, no doubt. Nevertheless, it is almost over! It's crazy to think that it's almost November. It feels like school just started! Not that I'm complaining--I'm super ready for the Thanksgiving break coming up.

I have still been temping (and doing it the right way this time--no showering and going back to sleep) just to make myself rest easy about the fact that I am, in fact, ovulating. My cycle is extremely regular, which they say is a good sign, but I also know that some ovarian cysts are caused by eggs not actually being released after the hormone surge. I just want to make sure all is well. Fertilityfriend.com and I are new best friends, and hopefully it will like my chart.

We have been slowly chipping away at the "pre-TTC to-do list." I know we're not "pre-TTC," but better late than never, right? My parents made sure I was current on all my checkups before we got married since they knew we wouldn't be able to afford it, but he was on his own in college, and that wasn't an option for him. We've already gotten him glasses, so that's one big expense out of the way. We were going to make the next thing a dentist visit for him, but some things have come up and I think we're going to jump ahead to sending him to the general practitioner. The hubs is a big guy. He's been working on losing weight for quite awhile. He's really cut back on his soda and sugar consumption, cut down on portion size, has started exercising more regularly, and he's trying hard. The problem is that he hasn't lost any weight. In fact, it looks like he's actually gained. It's frustrating for both of us, plus, it's not good when trying to get pregnant. I suggested that he might have an actual problem, so he asked his mom if there are any family health problems he should know about, and she actually said that he has a family history of diabetes on both sides. She's also had thyroid problems. It would be nice to have an answer for what's going on with his weight, so I'm hoping that he can get into the doctor soon and that the doctor will be able to tell us what to do. Maybe he can recommend an eating plan that will help him shed the weight, because it has to come off...for a lot of reasons. I want him to be around for a long time.

I'm moving on to Day 2 of training for my next run. I'm working on alternating distance running one day and incline training on the treadmill the next day, so today's treadmill day. Let's hope the exercise room is empty.
