I spent this weekend at the beach with a bunch of ladies from my church, and it was so relaxing. I went for a long walk on the beach, we had devotions under the full moon at night, and stayed up late talking. I got to know new people, and it was a good experience.
I love mini-getaways. Of course, DH would be my top choice to go with, but a group full of ladies isn't a bad second. =) I really did enjoy myself more than I thought I would at the beginning of the weekend, and it definitely made me appreciate my husband more. I don't like doing things without him, but I like knowing that I CAN do things without him and he supports me and encourages me to go and have a good time. I come home happy and refreshed with a loving man to welcome me. That's definitely something to be thankful for!
This weekend, so many of the women commented on how sweet my husband is. One of them even said, "It's so sweet how much your husband loves you. You can tell that he really, really takes good care of you." In the past, I dated a guy who...well, no one would've said that about. So, I can completely appreciate how wonderful it is to have someone say that about DH. He is a keeper for sure.
But now, back to reality. At least we have a three day weekend to look forward to next weekend!
