Week 16 Breakdown

Week 16 has been pretty good, overall! I had some hard times on Monday, and my allergies certainly are still present, but I had several good days in a row.

Tuesday--Register at Target, work in the nursery, buy our crib, have a profitable Scentsy party.

Wednesday--Register at Babies R Us, buy a bouncy seat because they're discontinuing the one I really liked, I assemble bouncy seat. Feel proud!

Thursday-- we went down to visit my family and I got to have a Starbucks date with my fellow mom-to-be and best friend! Then, I spent the night with my family since my mom had made plans to take me maternity clothes shopping the next day. The hubs had to come home because he was able to get a last-minute podiatrist appointment (he had been in agony all week long with two ingrown toenails).

Friday--Shopping with Mom. I bought a BeBand, two supercute dresses that I can use for work, church, or everyday wear, and a pair of black work pants. I also bought a very cute shirt that I intend to wear for my baby showers. While we were shopping, I got a call from the hubs updating me on what the podiatrist said. The doctor corrected one of his feet, but he ended up having to remove the whole nail on the other foot because of the severe infection. He also put Mr. ABC123 on antibiotics, so he spent the remainder of the day on the couch with his feet propped up. My mom and I headed back up to our apartment to take care of him--I felt content with my shopping trip, and I couldn't feel good about shopping all day when I knew the hubs was in pain.

My dad asked my mom if she wanted to stay up here with us for the evening, and we talked her into it (the hubs REALLY wanted her to stay--they get along great. I just love that). =) I think she gave in because she knew how much the hubs has been doing around the house to help me out lately and she wasn't sure if I'd be okay without his help. Luckily, I felt very good yesterday! I did some dishes, some laundry, served the hubs and my mom some snacks...I almost felt like my old self. The three of us hung out all Friday evening, watching episodes of Community and eating copious amounts of Cadbury Mini Robin's Eggs (and watermelon for me). I also discovered another food that baby just loves--red grapefruit. Mmmmm.

Today--Mom and I went to Hobby Lobby and Babies R Us, where she bought a pack of onesies off of our registry. I made breakfast for her and Mr. ABC123, did some more laundry, and finished up the dishes. I was really proud of myself to be holding my own after so many days of feeling green just from walking in the kitchen. I think the rest of the day will consist of chilling on the couch with the still-incapacitated hubby.

I had a chance to get into some of the baby books from my SIL. I read and loved Babywise (I was already familiar with the principles of it, but I still thought it was a good book). Right now, I'm into The Girlfriend's Guide to Pregnancy, which is also informative and enjoyable. A little "fluffy," but I'm okay with that. My brother also loaned us The Everything Father-to-Be Book, and the hubs and I read parts of it together, which lead to some pretty interesting discussions. I think it helped my husband to understand the effects of pregnancy on me a little bit more. I think it's at least worth the consideration for any dad-to-be.
