You might remember from some previous posts that I have encountered a particular person who makes very rude and insensitive comments, particularly about children. She's not nice. Well, I have a little story for you.
You may recall that I mentioned a coworker who is pregnant. She's due in just a few weeks, and she & I were chatting after school about maternity clothes. My next-door teacher's daughter is also pregnant, so the three of us were chatting about babies. It was so great for me, because y'all know how long I've been waiting to have these kinds of conversations.
So the three of us are involved in our little baby conversation after school, when Mrs. Not-so-nice comes walking by and shouts, "I'm glad it's not ME!" I ignore her and continue chatting with Pregnant Coworker. Well, she's not happy about being ignored, so she continues: "I don't want to have to go to the bathroom every few minutes, and throw up every few minutes, and eat all the time, and feed the baby all the time, and have a tiny, screaming, crying person needing me every few minutes, and I don't want to get fat again."
To begin with, these things may be true, but what kind of person says them out loud? To TWO pregnant women? Secondly, being pregnant and being fat are different. Thirdly, she's talking to two women who have been waiting to have babies for a long time, and aren't swayed by her "insults."
Fourth, the only reason she's saying these things is because she's so jealous the focus isn't on her that she can't stand it.
You guys all know people that just have to be the center of attention, right? This is that kind of situation. It's such an outrageous thing to do, right? I mean, who SAYS those things? It almost makes me sad to think about what she believes to be missing in her life, that she has to try and bring everyone else down.
Well, I'M still really excited. I'm HAVING A BABY! And I've waited a long time to be able to eat, and have a tiny, crying person depending on me, and get a belly.
So there.
